Today - August 5 - marks the 50th anniversary of the passing of Hollywood's most enduring sex symbol, Marilyn Monroe. To celebrate her life and legacy, here are some rarely published photographs of MM behind the scenes.
On location for River of No Return (1954) - the crutches are due to a sprained ankle suffered
when director Otto Preminger insisted she do her own stunts. She insisted her leg be put in a
cast, despite not being broken, allegedly to punish Preminger & make filming around her difficult!
